1.Items in the catalog that do not have a symbol regarding consumption tax

These items will not have consumption tax added to the winning bid price.

2.Items in the catalog marked with †

These items are sold under regular Japanese consumption tax regulations and a 8% consumption tax will be added to the winning bid price.

3.Items in the catalog market with ‡

These items are classified as temporary import items and sold through Sunrise. As such, an amount equivalent to the 8% import consumption tax will be added to the winning bid price.

4.Exemption from consumption tax

Under certain conditions, products may be exempt from consumption tax. The following are some examples but because there are cases where this may be uncertain or where the advice of specialists are required, these should only be used as a rough guideline and should not be taken as factual advice.

When items marked with † are exported to an address outside of Japan by Sunrise, the buyer may be exempt from the consumption tax added to the winning bid price.

When items marked with † are exported to an address outside of Japan using a delivery company arranged for by the buyer themselves, the buyer may be exempt from the consumption tax added to the winning bid price upon presentation to Sunrise of required documents such as an export certificate.
